Disclaimer: I’m not pushing what I do upon anyone, but if you’re serious about self-sufficiency, perhaps this will lend some inspiration to help you brainstorm your own possibilities for “getting that bread” in more ways than one, on your own terms, while following your passions, especially during a time like this.
How It All Started
Let’s begin with how things began. Here’s a recap of my (brief but exciting) career up until the COVID outbreak:
- Q3 2017 — graduated from University of Edinburgh (MA in Economics with Finance).
- Q4 2017 — started working as a business analyst for a Canadian venture capital firm based in Bangkok.
- Q4 2018 — joined a full-stack web development bootcamp run by Le Wagon in Melbourne.
- Q1 2019 — returned to Bangkok to lead business development for a healthcare blockchain startup.
- Q1 2020 — stepped away from my role and returned to Melbourne due to visa complications and family reasons.
