Motivation Does NOT Lead to Success

You need motivation to get started, but it’s momentum that finishes the job.

Want to succeed? Do me a favor, don’t rely on motivation.

Yes, you need the right motivation to get started or to pull you out of a slump. It’s the WHY of things. But that’s about as far as motivation can take you.

Don’t rely on staying motivated to keep making progress.

Focus on building a system for yourself that helps you take little steps forward — regardless of whether you feel motivated about it or not.

Why? Because little steps forward, no matter how small, will help you build momentum. And it’s momentum that drives you to the finish line and beyond, NOT motivation.

Motivation comes and goes.

Don’t rely on motivation as a painkiller to make the grind feel “easier”.

Don’t train yourself to make progress only when you feel like it.

Train yourself to be OK with not always feeling like doing something but you do it anyway — because that’s the system you live by and you already have too much momentum to stop.

Start small, start training yourself to continue the process regardless of how you feel, because that’s the actual dream.
